Nestled amidst acres of trees and serene ponds, Sweetbriar Golf Course is a public golf facility that sweetly blends community with some of Ohio's finest golf in a country club setting. Located within a residential area, Sweetbriar's courses carefully balance golf with community by incorporating extended greens and strategic play that alleviate concerns of disrupting houses and neighbors and -- most importantly -- the game. Sweetbriar Golf Course is a forward-thinking facility that offers pay-as-you-play golf accompanied by amenities normally found at an exclusive members-only club facility, including an Olympic-sized pool, tennis courts, a club house and the award-winning John Christ Winery. With more than 550 acres, Sweetbriar has two 18-hole golf courses that make it an ideal location for outings of any size. Originally built in the 1960s, the course was bought by Bucky Kopf, who had the vision of building a "golf course community" that could be enjoyed by all. Since the course's initial opening with the Sweetbriar 18, the location has gone through some renovations, including the addition of the Legacy 18 that was completed in 2007.
