Season 2009
First Aired Wed 05/27/2009 @ 10pm
If you thirst for a challenging round of golf, The Golf Club at Stonelick Hills, located in Batavia, Ohio, features enough of H-2-O to quench any desire. Literally 14 of Stonelick's 18 challenging holes are surrounded by or played near a body of water -- a testament to the well-thought-out strategies in the design created by course owner and designer Jeff Osterfeld. Once having a 2-3 handicap, Osterfeld developed such a strong passion for the design and the strategy of the game he researched and plotted a plan for his dream course. Today, Stonelick Hills has been opened for five years and was ranked 3rd Best Public Access Golf Course in State of Ohio by Golf Week Magazine in 2008. "Quality before profit" is the motto Osterfeld held tight to -- and it is apparent in this 244-acre course that features nine lakes, wooded surroundings, five tees and five par 5s and par 3s. Beyond the 18th hole, Stoney's Pub at the 19th hole uniquely showcases original Riverfront Stadium seating in the back patio, bringing a little bit of the ball game to the golf course. While there, make sure you nibble on the Pub's signature half-pound cheeseburger, fresh-cut fries and a cold beer. It's great food for the soul.
